Ice Figure Skate Instruction

Teaching To Be Teachers!

Building successful Learn to Skate programs through teaching skaters to be teachers.

Who:

  • New Teaching Talent!
  • Skaters 14 & up
  • Figure skaters need Pre- Pre Moves
  • Two written recommendation letters
  • LTS Director and one on ice coach
  • Member in good standing USFS

What:

This program is designed for the first time or inexperienced teacher as well as those desiring to continue to learn.  It follows a simple proven framework of teaching that teaches the new teacher to experience, understand, and  breakdown each skill and communicate it effectively to all types of learners. We will also emphasize a career path and growing your LTS  program.

Where:

Your rink!

Why this program is needed:

The same reason we emphasize the need to have a strong feeder group in our Learn to Skate (LTS) programs!

We need to have an obvious structure or career path for our skaters who have the desire to teach. These young skaters are the feeder group for future LTS instructors.

This program will enable the new instructor to be prepared, confident, and employable. The new instructors would attend the seminar and then interview at the rink of their choice. They return to their home rink and hit the ice, fresh and confident to help grow their LTS program.
